Dudley's Corner
About This Spot
Pulling off the highway at Dudley's Corner feels like stepping into a quieter moment caught between past and present. This unassuming truck stop and breakfast nook tucked away along IA-3 welcomes travelers and locals with a calm familiarity that gently greets you like an old friend. The hum of quiet conversation blends easily with the clatter from the kitchen, where simple, home-spun meals are sizzled up fresh and straightforward.
The pace here slows to match the easy rhythm of the countryside, a place where everyone — from truckers to neighboring farmers — drops by to refuel both their tanks and their spirits. Inside, you’ll find a cozy, lived-in atmosphere that’s anything but hurried: warm smiles, genuine kindness, and the kind of attentive service that invites you to linger a little longer, sharing stories or just soaking up the calm.
Behind the counter and around the corner, the experience extends beyond breakfast. There's a small collection of homemade goods and local keepsakes—soft soap bars with comforting scents and handcrafted treats—that echo the heart of the community and offer a tangible piece of the area’s character. Each visit feels like a quiet exchange, a moment to appreciate life’s simpler pleasures and the people who make them happen.
If you find yourself needing a break from the road, this spot grounds you. It’s a reminder that sometimes warm company, honest food, and a moment of rest are just as important as the destination itself.

First of all, the employees at this spot are some of the nicest people. It's not your ordinary truck stop. It's like you stepped back in the past with much nicer folks. Lol. Go to the ba k and see all the nice souvenirs and homemade items. The soap and lotions in the back smell just great. Grab a few bars. The diner is something not to snooze on. It's small but has one of the best server and chef combos I've e er experienced in a long time. The lady behind the counter is definitely a momma. I'm gonna call her Chef Momma. She made me a chef salad that was wso worth it. It honestly was one of the best salads I've had in years. No, everyone can't make a salad. She put her elbows in that salad it was perfect. I was curious, so I ordered the Rueben. I hate Ruebens. It's my test for a restaurant, diner, dive spot. The cute lil waitress suggested oniin rings. I was down. Chef Momma, I think she ran to the house and made this sandwich. The love that went into creating this sandwich. She is my Rueben Queen. This is absolutely the best Rueben I have ever had. Anyway, Dudley's Corner is not your normal truck. It's the local meeting spot. The home-cooked meal spot. A place where a person who loves what she does and it tastes like it. Hey, and don't forget to tip that waitress well she's a hustler. She flips tables and smiles the entire time.

Dudley's Corner has reasonably priced gasoline in a stretch of Iowa I-35 that has a dearth of services. A godsend if you find you need gas or a rest stop on this stretch of highway. It's about as clean as a farm Co-op service station, but, in addition to gas, there's a well stocked store and a cafe, which (although we didn't eat) was filled with locals.

My first impressions of the food were… bussin bussin. When we first got here me and two friends we were like that’s a lot of truckers but it is a truck stop but they were really quite our server was the nicest person ever she checked in on us all the time and the food here is so fricken cheap it’s actually crazy like a giant burger for only 8 dollars and awesome cheese curds and don’t even start me on how cheep the breakfast items are. Ok now onto the food my burger… it was so juicy and hot and the toasted bun was delicious and the cheese curds were absolutely delicious too. Now what my friends ordered were the patty melt an again the cheese curds my other friend got the “top of the day” which is hash browns and a breakfast meat and he also got the cinnamon roll and also cheese curds in all this place was literally one of the best places if eaten I will come back again!

This is exactly what America was built on. Family run. Home grown business. Locals come to eat. Staff is incredibly kind and wonderful to interact with. Food is perfect for the price point. Everything is priced in a way that makes it hard not to continue to patron the establishment. I will definitely be coming back any time I am in the area. Taking the exit off I35 or right off of 3. This is a gem. There is plenty of truck parking if needed. Fuel, gifts, nick nacks of all kinds. Perfect place to take a break on a road trip. Or spend the night for a trucker. Can not recommend this place enough.

Absolutely 5 star Came in for late breakfast, wasn't too busy, served right away, prices low, quality is high, family of 6 ate and had left overs for 35$ fast food can't even beat that. Plus did I mention the quality. Pancakes and eggs all grilled infromt of you. You can hear your order being cooked moments later. Will ALWAYS come here heading south through Iowa

This is not your typical truck stop. Food is amazing and prices are very reasonable. Coffee is .99 and $1.29 for cappuccino..Tip: order the cheese balls and ask for some pizza sauce for dipping. There is a convenience store with a multitude of snacks and drinks and ice cream. On older reviews people cautioned about the restrooms. I used the ladies room and it was maybe a little dated, but it was clean and functional. My husband said that the men's room was clean, too. We will definitely go back next time we are traveling on I35.

Traveling interstate 35 today. We decided to stop at Dudley’s. We both ordered ham & cheese omelette’s and one side of 2 pancakes. The omelette was great and we each had a pancake. Pancake was awesome. Very reasonable. Coffee.99 cents! We’d stop again if driving by! There is also a convenience store in the building and a gift-craft shop area.
